Waiting for the Moon

This original encaustic painting is created using the ancient Greek technique of burning layers of beeswax and pigments into wood using a live flame. The result is a luminous, archival-quality artwork with incredible depth and texture.

Each piece is completely unique - slight variations in wax texture and color distribution are part of the organic nature of the encaustic process.

Materials:

• Pure beeswax
• Damar resin
• Pigments and oils
• Cradled wood panel

Process:

Multiple layers of tinted molten wax are applied and fused using heat. Each layer becomes permanently bonded to the one below, creating depth and translucency. The edges are burnished with antique gold, eliminating the need for framing.

Archival Quality: Encaustic is one of the most stable art mediums. The wax is impervious to moisture and doesn't oxidize like oil paint. Colors remain vibrant indefinitely.

This artwork does not require framing. The edges are burnished with antique gold as part of the artistic process, making them beautiful and complete as-is.

Ready to Hang:

• Picture hanging hardware attached to back
• Can hang immediately upon arrival
• Horizontal or vertical orientation as designed

The golden edges catch the light beautifully and give the piece a finished, precious quality without the visual interruption of a frame.

Packaging: Your artwork will be carefully wrapped in acid-free paper, protected with bubble wrap, and packed in a sturdy custom box with reinforced corners.
