About This Artwork

'Nightfall' is an original encaustic triptych. It's part of my Dreamscapes series - a collection of meditative artworks inspired by the beautiful Brunswick River, near the Australian town of Byron Bay. In this piece, a tiny finch flutters down into the wild grass along the riverbank, as night descends and moonlight illuminates the bird's exquisite wings. Behind the grasses, the gently rippling silvered surface of the river adds grace and movement to the scene.
